The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), with support from the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI), held a stakeholder consultation on its draft bill aimed at transforming the Fund into the Digital Economy and Innovation Development Fund. The meeting brought together Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Tower Companies and other key stakeholders in the digital communications sector.

The Administrator of GIFEC,Mr. Tanko Rashid-Computer, Directors, Heads of Unit and Ministry officials joined participants to review the draft bill and discuss its key provisions. Stakeholders shared valuable recommendations to strengthen the proposed legislation before its submission to Cabinet and subsequent presentation to Parliament.

The engagement formed part of GIFEC's commitment to an open and inclusive consultation process. The proposed transition is expected to strengthen the Fund's role in promoting digital inclusion, innovation and the growth of Ghana's digital economy space.
