The Administrator (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Mr. Sofo Tanko Rashid Computer, has encouraged students to remain focused on their education and embrace continuous learning. He made the call when he received a delegation of students from 51 Junior High Schools and 2 Senior High Schools in the Nanumba North and Mion Districts of the Northern Region, who were on an educational visit organised by Education for Change Ghana.
The delegation was led by the Executive Director of Education for Change Ghana, Mr. Ahmed Abubakai, and included the Secretary, Mr. Sualisu Zakaria, and First Aider, Ms. Suraj Shakira. The students, selected as the best-performing learners in their respective schools, were taken on the educational trip to recognise their achievements, broaden their horizons and motivate them to strive for greater academic excellence.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Sofo Tanko Rashid Computer urged the students to remain focused on their studies, continue to develop their knowledge and support colleagues who may be facing academic challenges. He emphasised that education remains fundamental to individual success and national development and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to improving the education sector and creating opportunities for young people.
As part of his support for the initiative, the Administrator presented an undisclosed amount of money to Education for Change Ghana and pledged his continued support for initiatives that promote education, learning and youth development.
The visit provided the students with an opportunity to learn more about GIFEC’s work and gain renewed motivation to pursue their educational aspirations and contribute meaningfully to the development of Ghana.
