The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications(GIFEC) has been honoured as the Financial Inclusion & Digital Access Champion of the Year (Public Sector) award at the Finance Focus Middle East and Africa Congress and Awards 2025 at Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The honour recognised GIFEC for its sustained leadership in expanding Digital Access and advancing financial inclusion, particularly in underserved and rural communities. From Community Information Centres to Rural Telephony Projects and Digital Literacy Interventions, GIFEC’s work has steadily narrowed Ghana’s digital divide.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Fund were Mrs. Nana Akya Amoah-Amissah, Deputy Administrator, and Ms. Francisca Adjei, Director of Corporate Affairs.Their presence symbolised both strategic leadership and effective public engagement.
The recognition at the Finance Focus Congress places GIFEC among leading public institutions across the Middle East and Africa that are translating digital policy into tangible social and economic outcomes. It also reinforces Ghana’s position as a country willing to invest public resources deliberately to ensure that no community is left offline.
The high-level Congress which was convened under the theme “Finance Forward: Strategic Leadership, Innovation and Inclusion in a New Global Era” was organised at the Al Raha Beach Resort and Spa Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
